Luxor to Aswan

Day 1 – Luxor Arrival & Begin Sailing
Board Fayrouz Sanctuary between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM (latest recommended arrival: 2:00 PM). After a warm welcome and cabin check-in, enjoy lunch onboard as your dahabeya begins sailing south toward Esna. Relax on deck and watch the timeless Nile scenery unfold — palm groves, small villages, and farmers working along the riverbanks. From this moment, the river sets the pace.
Day 2 – Esna, Temple of Khnum & El Kab
In the morning, cross the Esna Lock and arrive in the historic town of Esna. Visit the beautifully preserved Temple of Khnum, renowned for its vivid ceiling colors and detailed carvings. Afterwards, enjoy a walk through Esna’s local market and narrow streets, offering a glimpse into everyday Egyptian life. Return to the dahabeya for lunch and continue sailing toward El Kab. Later, explore the ancient El Kab Tombs, carved into the cliffs and dating back to Egypt’s early dynastic periods.
Day 3 – Island Life & Gebel El Silsila
After breakfast on deck, enjoy a peaceful walk through banana and mango plantations on a small Nile island. You’ll then visit a local home for tea — a warm and authentic cultural experience. In the afternoon, explore Gebel El Silsila, the ancient sandstone quarry that supplied stone for many of Egypt’s great temples. Its dramatic cliffs rising directly from the Nile create a powerful and tranquil atmosphere. In the evening, enjoy live music performed by local musicians under the open sky.
Day 4 – Kom Ombo, Daraw & A Special Nile Evening
Today’s highlight is the unique Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to Sobek and Horus and beautifully positioned along the river. Continue to Daraw, known for its traditional camel and cattle market*, offering a rare glimpse into Upper Egypt’s trading culture. After lunch onboard, relax as you sail toward Aswan. In the evening, celebrate your journey with a BBQ picnic and candlelit dinner on the Nile shore — a magical farewell experience. Daraw Market visits are arranged according to operating days.
Day 5 – Philae Temple & Departure from Aswan
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast onboard before disembarkation. Before departure, visit the enchanting Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis and set on a picturesque island surrounded by water. After the visit, transfer to Aswan International Airport for your onward flight. (Recommended departure after 3:00 PM.)
