Born from a vision to glide softly—unlike any other vessel on the Nile—it was conceived as a moving retreat, where silence is intentional, comfort instinctive, and every detail exists with purpose.
Its form draws from ancient Egypt’s sacred sun boats—vessels of passage, renewal, and reverence. Crystal-inspired layers shape the architecture, filtering light gently and allowing calm to settle and linger within the space.
And in its gentle passage, you return—to stillness.
Beneath the visible design lies a quieter element of restoration: during construction, natural salt crystals were laid beneath the entire floor of the vessel—hidden from sight, yet deeply present—chosen for their grounding energy and symbolic role in restoring balance, serenity, and inner stillness with every step of the journey.
The wood used throughout the vessel is sourced from rare, high-quality tropical hardwood, selected for its durability, richness, and natural depth of character. Interiors are complemented by fine linen fabrics across bedding, coverings, and table settings, produced by a socially responsible atelier dedicated to supporting and employing widowed and divorced women.
Comfort is further elevated through double-layer latex mattresses, while hand-crafted glassware—found in each suite/cabin and across the decks—adds a subtle, artisanal touch to the experience.
Fayrouz Sanctuary is intentionally limited in scale to preserve intimacy, silence, and a refined level of service. Hosting just 20 guests, the dahabiya offers a rare sense of privacy and space, allowing each journey to unfold without rush or distraction.
Every dimension, deck level, and spatial proportion has been carefully considered to ensure smooth sailing, stability, and a quiet onboard experience — allowing guests to connect deeply with the rhythm of the Nile and the surrounding landscapes.
